While not quite the timeless classic that the original has proven to be, Halloween II is still one of the most effective sequels in the franchise. The hospital setting paired with some memorably brutal kills shines above the fairly generic script.

Although Daeg Faerch, who portrayed a young Michael Myers in the 2007 remake, was initially signed on to reprise his role for Halloween II (then known as H2), after filming briefly in Georgia as young Michael, he was later recast because he had grown taller. He was replaced by Chase Wright Vanek.

Carpenter didn't think his breakout hit needed a second movie, but when the studio came knocking with a hefty chunk of change, he relented, signing on to Halloween II (currently streaming on Peacock) as producer and co-writer.

I will admit that I do admire Rob Zombie taking a big swing to do something different with Halloween II. But holy smokes is it dreadful, from top to bottom. Because he filmed in Georgia, the locale looks nothing like small town Haddonfield. The violence is brutal, but without any feeling or perverse joy behind it.
